An officer reported the incident over the radio, and said the car drove onto Interstate 95 northbound at Pine Street, police said. Officers checked the plate number of the vehicle and determined it belonged to David Brandman, 47 , according to police.
Bridgeport police notified State Police and Milford police, who were able to track down Brandman in Milford, police said. As officers attempted to pull his 2006 Cadillac over in Milford, he nearly stuck another police officer who was on foot yelling for the vehicle to stop, police said.
Officers were later able to stop the vehicle and detained Brandman in Milford, police said. Bridgeport police took custody of Brandman from Milford police and transported him back to Bridgeport, police said.
Brandman was charged with two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of disobeying an officer's signal in a construction zone. Bond was set at $10,000.
